About the Position
Altus Power is currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified Senior Energy Optimization Manager – MidAtlantic and Southeast to join its Energy Optimization team. As the SEOM for the MidAtlantic and Southeast, you will be responsible for managing the Energy Optimization Managers and assets within your territory. You and your team will oversee the assessment, management and planning of preventative and corrective workflows necessary to maximize operational efficiency and solar production. Your technical experience and expertise will assist in 1) timely acquisition of equipment and materials, and spare parts, 2) provide detailed equipment breakdown analyses, 3) structuring of the scope of work and oversight of bidding to outside contractors, 4) manage and supervise your EOMs, 5) be familiar with your EOT and 3rd party vendors, and 6) provide for prompt corrective action recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor and manage team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Work with your Technician Manager(s) to develop and present cost effective training programs to further operations and maintenance capabilities
- Work with your Technician Manager(s) and Health & Safety Manager to drive safety accountability through meetings, trainings, observations, and audits
- Travel to project sites to verify conditions of the projects, oversee large scale remediation and/or repowering efforts when needed
- Review production reports and project specific performance data generated by your Production Engineer
- Work with your team and O&M providers, where applicable, to ensure assets meet or exceed the weather adjusted performance targets
- Source third-party provider O&M provider bids where necessary; contract review for execution
- Work with the Procurement Team to support the procurement activity necessary for your territory
- Responsible for monthly operational efficiency reporting as it relates to assets under Park Avenue Solar Solutions direct control – workflow summaries, inventory levels, performance data
- Interact with local utilities, regulatory agencies, PPA off takers, local government, and landowners
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations in all concerns, including but not limited to; environmental, local laws, federal regulations
- Build and maintain effective relationships with OEMs, service providers and contractors
- Hold your team accountable for workflows and work to create performance improvement plans where necessary
- Work with your EOMs to enforce warranty and other guarantees within designated contracts
- Support efforts to continuously identify, document, and adopt best practices and standardized operating procedures
- Collaborate with the Diligence Team to ensure acquired projects and/or portfolios are successfully onboarded
- Assist in the planning and management of O&M budgets
- Support accounts payable activities consistent with this role; reviews and tracking of operating expenses incurred by assets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in solar operations and maintenance
- Budget / Project Management experience
- Contract review and execution experience
- Government regulation compliance experience
- Proficient use of Microsoft office tools including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, Power BI
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- OSHA30 and CPR certification required
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Travel requirement is 15-20% per quarter
