About the Position
Altus Power is expanding its software development team and looking for a talented software engineer to join the team. Upon joining you will be part of Altus Power digital team focused on delivering software tailored to the needs of the company and its clients. Although we don’t require you to know everything when joining, we expect you can quickly learn the technologies that are backbone of our operations: Python, AWS Serverless, microservices, MySQL, Airflow, InfluxDB, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Github and many more.
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate experience (3+ years) building microservices in Cloud environment, preferably using Python and AWS Serverless architecture.
• Collaborate on development of next generation of Altus Power software suite, contributing to system architecture and design.
• Have ownership mentality and push things into completion.
• Take pride in own work, creating elegant software and writing clean code.
• Be champion of automation, especially in area of CI/CI and resource management.
• Understands requirements of building secured systems.
• Have experience with and understanding of observability tools (logs, alerts, tracing).
• Be able to adapt and learn new technologies quickly, especially related to AI.
• Collaborate with Product and Project Managers on mapping business requirements onto user stories and system architecture.
• Experience processing large data sets using tools like Airflow, InfluxDB or similar a great plus.
• Frontend (TypeScript, React) experience a big plus.
Requirements:
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related, or equivalent work experience
• Solid programming skills in object-oriented languages, prefer experience in Python
• Strong Interest in analytics and / or finance-related programming
• Ability to learn new skills efficiently
• Strong communication skills and a team player
